Welcome back to my weekend reflections, where I dive into the highs and lows of my workweek!
High: I worked one day out of three! I was off on Saturday attending a wedding, and I am off today, Monday, because it’s MLK Day. I worked on Sunday, and it was a normal workday, with mom and baby consults, discharge planning, and seeing new patients to complete initial assessments.
I did have a mom who was upset that I was making a CPS report because the baby was positive for drugs. It’s fascinating to see the change in people’s tone and behavior when I give them the courtesy heads-up of hey I am going to be making a CPS report because your child is positive for XYZ drugs and how they react. I mean, I could just not tell you… I do not have to tell the patient when I make a CPS or APS report, but I find that in most cases its not a bad thing to give them a heads up.
Low: I do not have a low; it was a good one day of work. I am looking forward to settling back into work this upcoming weekend. Since October, I have not worked an entire month between traveling, attending weddings, family, and friend events. I am ready to get back into my routines.
