Welcome back to my weekend reflections, where I dive into the highs and lows of my workweek!
High: The social committee regrouped for the upcoming quarter. I am on the social committee and help plan our department events. I love planning and getting ideas lifted off the ground—especially fun events in which we get to celebrate our colleagues. It was fun to get the ideas rolling, assign our tasks and get our colleagues excited, and have them look forward to something.
Lows: Between the multiple hospice consults, the sexual assault case that came through, and the domestic abuse case- I was ready for the shift to be over this weekend. It was a lot- mentally and emotionally. surprisingly I have never dealt with a rape case before. Domestic violence, abuse and neglect- yes. Sexual assault or rape- no. So it was a learning moment for me and it was very nerve-wracking because I had no prior experience until then.
