October Joys: Things That Are Making Me Happy This Season

October is one of my favorite months of the year, and right now, I’m feeling good about where I am in life—both personally and at work. So, I wanted to share a few things that are bringing me joy this season.

Done with Hurricane Season
This season has been particularly challenging. We faced two hurricanes and even a tornado! It’s never easy seeing your community and loved ones endure the impacts of Mother Nature. Navigating conversations with insurance companies about deductibles and coverage felt overwhelming, and figuring out how to communicate with work about coming in—especially when I didn’t even have electricity at home—only added to the stress. Thankfully, I have amazing managers who checked in regularly, and incredible family and friends who stepped up when I needed them most.

Now that hurricane season has officially come to an end, I’m feeling a huge sense of relief.

Nespresso Fall Pumpkin and Maple Pods
Nespresso’s fall flavors are here, and I’ve been loving them! Every morning, the smell of pumpkin spice fills the air, and it’s an instant mood booster. It’s like a cozy reminder that fall is in full swing. Pure joy in a cup!

Catching Up with Friends
There’s something about seeing friends that just fills my cup. This year, I’ve made more of an effort to reach out—sending that first text, making plans, and checking in. We’re all adults, and I know how busy life can get, so scheduling plans sometimes requires advance notice. But it’s worth it. Friendships need to be watered and nurtured, and I’m making sure I’m doing just that.

Getting Back Into a Routine
Summer was chaotic but in the best way. Between traveling, attending events, and spending time with family and friends, I was always on the go—and I loved it! But with all that excitement, my usual routine took a bit of a back seat. Now that fall is here and things are slowing down, I’m excited to get back into my groove. Working out three times a week, getting my laundry and meal prep done before work, and—most importantly—taking time to rest. Some weeks, it felt like I blinked and was back to work, even though I had four days off. It’s always a bit jarring!
