How To Reset Yourself For The Work Week- 3 Twelve-hour Shifts

Posted on August 28, 2024February 14, 2025 by gabby

I’m a creature of habit, and if there’s one habit that keeps my work life in check, it’s my Friday reset routine—what might be a Sunday reset for most. Think of it as a mini ritual that sets me up for success, ensuring my next three days flow smoothly both at home and at work. Every Friday, without fail, I follow this routine, and it’s made all the difference. Below is exactly what I do to ensure a stress-free weekend and productive workdays ahead. This routine has become second nature to me.

Beauty & Self-Care

  • Shampoo & Deep Condition: I start by giving my hair some extra TLC with a deep conditioner—nothing beats that fresh, soft feeling.
  • Dry Brushing: Before I jump in the shower, I dry brush to wake up my skin and get the circulation going.
  • Exfoliate & Shave: In the shower, I exfoliate everything and shave—it’s my mini spa moment.
  • Skincare Routine: Post-shower, I go through my full skincare routine and give my face a good exfoliation. It’s all about feeling refreshed.
  • Cuticle & Hair Oil: I finish up by oiling my cuticles and giving my hair a nice oil treatment to keep everything hydrated and happy.

Wellness

  • Change Bedsheets: Fresh sheets are non-negotiable for me. There’s just something about sliding into a clean bed that’s unbeatable.
  • Laundry: I make sure all my clothes are washed and ready to go for the next week.
  • Meal Prep: Getting my meals prepped for the workweek is a game-changer. It keeps me on track and saves me from stressing about what to eat. A meal, two snacks, fruit, and candy.

Productivity

  • Plan & Schedule: I take a few minutes to map out any errands or admin tasks for the weekend. I make sure my Google calendar is up to date so I can plan my week accordingly.
  • Journal & Brain-Dump: I like to journal and then do a brain-dump to clear my mind and get everything out on paper. It helps me feel more centered and ready to tackle whatever’s next.
  • Tackle Quick Tasks: Finally, I knock out any quick tasks that can be done in under 5 minutes. It’s amazing how much you can get done when you focus on the small stuff. If It can get done today, then it will be done today.
