It’s been a minute since I last did a weekly recap at work, and of course, what a week it has been. Last week, Houston got hit with a storm, so Teams A and B were activated, and a code grey was put in place. I went in Monday night and checked in with my manager at 7 p.m. I stayed until Wednesday at 1 p.m. when the code was lifted, and Team B started to arrive. Then, I turned around and came back for my actual work schedule—Saturday through Monday.
Highs: I got to know my coworkers better during our downtime. We played games, told stories, and just hung out—it was nice.
Lows: Working while there was snow outside. Snow in Houston is so rare, like once-in-decades rare, and instead of being outside playing in it, I was working inside. My coworkers and I did take a moment to step outside, enjoy the snow, and send pictures to our families- it was magical!
