Weekend refelections Sepetmeber 24, 2024

Welcome back to my weekend reflections, where I dive into the highs and lows of my workweek! This weekend? A wild mix of cases—from handling sexual abuse situations to being told, “Get the f*ck out of my room” by a patient who didn’t want to see my face. But hey, that’s just a typical weekend in my world.

High: We’re finally nearing the end of our Epic training! The second-to-last session was this Monday, and let me tell you, I’m counting down the days until we officially switch to Epic in October. It’s going to streamline everything. On a more personal note, I had a powerful moment with a mother who was truly going through it—struggling with her kids, her husband, and life in general. Working in the mom-and-baby unit has given me a new perspective. It forces me to slow down and really listen to these mothers. The way I chart is different, the conversations are different, and honestly, it feels incredible knowing I’ve helped a mother in her toughest moments.

Low: Y’all, the coworker drama has been real. At one point, one of the case managers literally had to tell two others to stop yelling at her—like, what in the world? The tension is thick, and at this point, I’m not sure if things will ever change. As I keep telling them, two truths can be true at the same time. But it’s clear not everyone’s ready to hear that!
